Photostory, a free software program, enables students and teachers to create and share multimedia stories effectively and easily. Begin by importing digital photos, scanned work, Powerpoint slides, computer-generated artwork or other digital images. Easily add text captions, audio narration, photo-effects, timings, transitions and motion-effects, as well as a musical score in a few easy steps. After viewing several curricular examples, teachers will gain hands-on experience creating their own sample Photostory projects, exploring the most common features of this powerful tool. Getting Started with Google Docs & Google Notebook

Google Docs - Use these free browser-based applications to create, store, share, publish and collaborate on text documents and spreadsheets. Import and edit existing Word, Excel and Powerpoint files, or export to a variety of formats. In addition to learning about the basic features of each program, participants will create their own Google accounts and share ideas for classroom use.
Google Notebook - With Google Notebook, users can type, copy and paste, and organize information from across the web in a single, searchable online location that's accessible from any Internet-connected computer. Add notes or paste content from any website while using your web browser. Share your notebook resources with students or colleagues. During the session, participants will set up their own free Google Notebook accounts.

Participants will be introduced to a variety of free, browser-based tools, such as Delicious (social bookmarking), TeacherTube (video sharing), Bubbleshare (online photo albums), Gliffy concept mapping, sPresent multimedia presentations, Quizlet (interactive quiz generator), JigZone (digital jigsaw puzzles), Picnik (image editing), VoiceThread (collaborative media sharing) and more.
